Based on the hypothesis that the systematic study of notarial protocol books, given their function and the nature of their legal content, offer an unbeatable perspective to know the society that produced them, a database was built that allows access to the content of 8,501 notarial acts signed in the 16th century; thus we can establish the what, when and how of each public deed, as well as the personal data and roles played by its 23,044 grantors.
