How to get there

How to get from El Prat airport to the centre of Barcelona (Plaça de Catalunya) (plaça de Catalunya)
The journey from the airport to the centre of Barcelona takes about 30-40 minutes.

By bus (recommended option)
At the airport there are bus stops at the exits from Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The routes from the airport to the city centre are A1 (terminal 1) and A2 (terminal 2).

    A single ticket costs €5.30.
    A return ticket costs €9.15 (valid for 9 days between journeys).
    Tickets are sold on the bus itself (payment in cash) or at the ticket machines in the airport (in this case payment can be by VISA or Targeta 6000).
    Buses have space for luggage.
    Buses are suitable for people with reduced mobility.
    Buses leave every 5-10 minutes from 6.00am to 1.03am.
    Special tickets (T-10, T-Mes, T50/30, T-Trimestre, T- Jove, T-Familar, T-Dia) are not valid on these bus services.
   Tickets cannot be booked in advance, and must be bought on the spot.
To get back to the airport: both services take the same return route. However, you must take care over which airport bus you catch: the one that goes to terminal 1 is light blue and dark blue; the one that goes to terminal 2 is dark blue and yellow.

By train

Renfe Rodalies. Línia R2. Aeroport Nord – Sant Celoni /Maçanet Massanes.
The station is located opposite T2 and linked to it by a bridge.
There is a shuttle bus service between the railway station and T1.Journey: Airport - El Prat de Llobregat - Bellvitge - Barcelona Sants (about 20 minutes).
Tickets cost €2.80.Trains leave every 30 minutes from 5.42am to 23.38pm.
At Barcelona Sants station you need to take Metro line 3 (the green line) to Plaça Catalunya (towards Trinitat Nova).
Journey: Sants station – Tarragona – Espanya – Poble Sec – Paral·lel – Drassanes – Liceu – Plaça Catalunya.
Trains leave every 3 - 4 minutes from 5.00am to 12.00pm.

By taxi
There are taxi ranks in front of terminals 1, 2, 2A, 2B and 2C.
The journey into the city can take between 20 and 30 minutes, depending on the state of the traffic.
The cost of the journey will probably be around €40. Rates are always displayed inside the taxi. The cost is what is shown on the taximeter.
A €1 supplement must be paid for carrying baggage.
You are recommended to ask for a receipt. If you leave anything in a taxi, you can try to get it back by calling 902 101 564 (Monday to Friday 8.00am-8.00pm) or writing to Objper-taxi@amb.cat

Accommodation
Barcelona is a city with large numbers of visitors all year round, so it is therefore advisable to book accommodation as far in advance as possible. The city and its outskirts offer an extensive range of accommodation possibilities at a wide variety of rates.

Recommendations by the Organisers:
The Residence for Researchers where the conference is being held offers hotel-type accommodation.
Look up prices and bookings
There is also the option of accommodation at other university halls of residence in the city at reasonable prices.
The organisers have block-booked 20 rooms for conference attendees at the Hotel Campus, located on the Campus of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, about 30 minutes from the city centre, with a train service run by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya.
