El nom del fotoperiodista Agustí Centelles (1909-1985) ha tingut una difusió extraordinària des que el 2009 els seus hereus van vendre'n l'arxiu al Ministeri de Cultura, deixant de banda, però, què hi ha en aquest arxiu i quina és la història d'aquella mitificada maleta on el fotògraf s'endugué milers de negatius a l'exili. Aquest article vol fer una aproximació a l'arxiu Centelles des de diferents vessants: la història del propi objecte, els dubtes que han planat sobre la seva autoria, el contingut ordenat pel seu autor i els documents apareguts recentment que permeten aproximar-se a través de la fotografia als anys de la II República i la Guerra Civil espanyola. |

The photojournalist Agustí Centelles (1909-1985) has been the focus of extraordinary attention since 2009 when his heirs sold the archive to the Spanish Ministry of Culture. At that time, the controversy surrounding the sale overshadowed the content of the suitcase that contained the negatives that the photographer took with him into exile in 1939. This article approaches the Centelles Archive from different angles: the history of the object itself, the questions that have arisen over Centelles' authorship, the organisation of the archive and the recently revealed documents that in conjunction with the archive provide a photographic analysis of the Second Spanish Republic and the Spanish Civil War. |
