Abstract:	The aim of this paper is to address the construction of historical models in the story of Herodotus. We analyzed the figures of Xerxes, Leonidas and Themistocles as leading exponents of that conflict. These characters represent models of good and bad ruler associable Homeric figures like Agamemnon, Achilles and Odysseus. The aim of Herodotus of modeling history was none other than submit to the Greek public a statement of the facts understandable.
