"La traducción corpórea" investiga la traducción como la interacción entre el lenguaje y el cuerpo que experimentan los traductores, además de los efectos tanto emocionales como físicos que la traducción les puede causar. En vez de elaborar y defender un argumento sobre el género, y partiendo de la convicción de que la traducción, como práctica, puede revelar e interrogar los vínculos divisivos impuestos por las definiciones convencionales del género, esta meditación afirma el cuestionamiento como una manera de aproximarse teóricamente a la traducción. La autora se refiere a material seleccionada de sus propios cuadernos y a las contribuciones de otros traductores, teóricos, y escritores. |

"Translating as a Body" explores the interaction of language and body experienced by the translator and the way that translation can affect the translator physically and mentally. Rather than develop an argument about gender, and based on the belief that the activity of translation can challenge the divisive bonds of conventional gender definitions, the meditations affirm inquiry as a way to approach translation practice theoretically. Material is drawn from the author's journal and translations and on work by other translators, translation theorists, and creative writers. |
