Abstract:	El objetivo de este trabajo es presentar una revisión interpretativa sobre la Transición de Júnior a Sénior en el deporte (TJS), acompañada de una propuesta de promoción de las Carreras Duales (CD) como sistema de trabajo que permita al deportista tener otras posibilidades en caso que dicha transición no tenga un resultado positivo. Hemos revisado y resumido: (a) los principales modelos teóricos que se utilizan en el trabajo con etapas y transiciones de carrera deportiva, y (b) los últimos trabajos publicados sobre TJS y CD. De la revisión se deriva la valoración de sus aportaciones y sugerencias sobre lo que queda por hacer. Finalmente, aportamos una seria de recomendaciones aplicadas que a nuestro juicio son las líneas por las que va a evolucionar la temática en los próximos años. Pretendemos ayudar a prevenir que la ambición por llegar a la élite de los deportistas jóvenes y prometedores se convierta en una apuesta arriesgada de todo o nada.
Abstract:	The purpose of this paper is to present an interpretative review on the Junior-to-Senior Transition in sports (JST), together with the proposal of promoting Dual Careers (DC) as a working system that will enable the athlete to have other opportunities in the event the transition is not successful. We reviewed and summarized: (a) the main theoretical models used in the work with stages and transitions in the athletic career, and (b) the most recent works published on JST and DC. Based on this review, we drafted an evaluation of their input and several pending aspects. Finally, we have provided a set of applied recommendations that we consider will be the trends for this topic in the upcoming years. We aim to help prevent the talented, young athletes' ambition of becoming elite athletes from being a risky all-or-nothing situation.
