Abstract:	El objetivo de este artículo es señalar la importancia de los trífidos, creados en la novela de John Wyndham El día de los trífidos (1951) como pioneros de un mundo vegetal singular, que además de ser un referente del terror vegetal, anticipa a los estudios posteriores que iniciaron el interés por la agencia de las plantas y sus capacidades inesperadas. La comparación con otras criaturas fantásticas vegetales, como los ents de J. R. R. Tolkien, y la aplicación del concepto de colonización inversa a las plantas, nos permiten entender mejor el sentido y evolución del trífido en un contexto actual. Conduciéndonos desde la ficción literaria a un replanteamiento del mundo vegetal acechante, como sujeto a tener en cuenta, para un cambio de paradigma en el marco de la ineludible reflexión medioambiental.
Abstract:	The aim of this essay is to point out the importance of the triffids, created in John Wyndham's novel The day of the triffids (1951) as an avant-garde of a unique vegetal world. Besides being referent of plant terror, it anticipates recent studies that initiated the interest of the plant agency and its unexpected capabilities. The comparison with other fantastic vegetable creatures, like Tolkien's Ents, and the application of the concept of reverse colonization to the plants, allow us to understand better the meaning and the evolution of the triffid in an actual context. Leading us from literary fiction, to a renew the idea of the lurking vegetal world, now integrated by subjects, which we need to attend to change the paradigm in the context of an unavoidable environmental reflection.
