¿De qué se ocupa la arqueología?

Abstract:	Los objetos arqueológicos abren mundo y nos exigen que traspasemos nuestra conciencia y lenguaje actuales. Los discursos arqueológicos que no cambian ante esas nuevas realidades cancelan mundo al perpetuarlo sin cambios. Las cosas pasaron y transcurrieron de una manera concreta. Pudieron atravesar ciertos posibles, sufrir accidentes o contingencias insospechadas, pero el transcurrir de todo ello incorporó, esquivó o rechazó cosas, de un modo y no otro. Por mucho que sepamos que nuestras proyecciones de futuro fallen y seamos incapaces de pronosticar sucesos de necesidad consecuente, lo cierto es que lo que transcurrió lo hizo de cierta manera. Hay muchas más cosas por descubrir que las descubiertas hasta el ahora que compartimos y en ello reside nuestra esperanza.
Abstract:	Archaeological objects set up a new world and demand that we move beyond our current consciousness and language. The archaeological discourses that do not change in the face of these new realities cancel out the world by perpetuating it without change. Things happened in a particular way. They may have passed through certain possibilities, and met with accidents or unsuspected contingencies, but, in one way or another, their passing incorporated, avoided or rejected other things. No matter how much we are aware that our projections of future fail, and that we are unable to predict events of consequent necessity, the fact remains that what happened did so in a certain manner. There are many more things to discover than those we have discovered up to this present that we share, and that is where our hope lies.
