Teachers play a key role in tackling bullying, underscoring the need to integrate theoretical and practical knowledge of this phenomenon into their university education. This study examined the bullying education provided to students pursuing degrees in Primary Education with a specialization in Physical Education (PETE) and in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (PASS). Participants were 425 fourth-year students (253 men, 172 women) from 14 Spanish universities. They completed a 20-item ad hoc questionnaire using a 5-point Likert-type scale. Findings revealed that undergraduates perceived their training on bullying as insufficient, with half scoring below 2 on a 5-point scale (M = 2. 29, SD = 1. 12). However, their perceived competence in addressing bullying was higher (M = 3. 23, SD = 0. 68), suggesting greater confidence than actual preparation. Despite this, the need for further training was strongly emphasized (M = 4. 40, SD = 0. 70), reflecting a clear demand for improved education. Overall, the study underscores the necessity of incorporating bullying-related content into PETE and PASS curricula. |
