Resumen:	This chapter evaluates the redistributive capacity and resilience of welfare states within the EU15 countries, focusing on two major global crises: the 2008 financial collapse and the COVID-19 pandemic. The author utilizes these events as "stress tests" to analyze how different European social protection models-Nordic, Bismarckian, Anglo-Saxon, and Southern European-cushion socioeconomic shocks and stabilize household incomes. By examining data from 2008 to 2023, the study explores the persistent structural inequalities across Europe and the effectiveness of institutional responses in protecting vulnerable groups.
