Abstract:	Despite the main importance of this event in the attempt to understand the uses and features of Alexander's conquest, the episode of the wedding between Alexander and Roxana has deserved little attention by Scholarship. However, a close observation of the implications of the details described by our unique extant source on this episode, Curtius, allows to reconsider some features concerning ritual traditions in Ancient Macedonia.
