This paper presents a novel solution of vehicle occlusion and 3D measurement for traffic monitoring by data fusion from multiple stationary cameras. Comparing with single camera based conventional methods in traffic monitoring, our approach fuses video data from different viewpoints into a common probability fusion map (PFM) and extracts targets. 15 p, 1.2 MB Sea surface temperature changes in the southern California borderlands during the last glacial-interglacial cycle / Mortyn, P. Graham (University of South Carolina. (NOAA Paleoclimatology Program (Boulder, Colorado)) ; Stott, Lowell D. (University of South Carolina. Department of Earth Sciences) ; Le, Jianning (University of South Carolina. Department of Geological Sciences)
A variety of evidence suggests that average sea surface temperatures (SSTs) during the last glacial maximum in the California Borderlands region were significantly colder than during the Holocene. Planktonic foraminiferal δ18O evidence and average SST estimates derived by the modern analog technique indicate that temperatures were 6°-10°C cooler during the last glacial relative to the present. In this paper, we address the analysis of human actions by comparing different performances of the same action executed by different actors. Specifically, we present a comparison procedure applied to the walking action, but the scheme can be applied to other different actions, such as bending, running, etc. [...]

Location, land use and transportation models developed during the 1960's are considered, comparing them with recent postmodern challenges to modeling. The goal is to show how emerging areas in transportation and land use modeling tie into the current historical/ social context.
