17 p, 263.4 KB Genetic Programming for Object Detection : a Two-Phase Approach with an Improved Fitness Function / Zhang, Mengjie (Victoria University of Wellington (Wellington, Nova Zelanda). School of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science) ; Bhowan, Urvesh (Victoria University of Wellington (Wellington, Nova Zelanda). School of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science) ; Ny, Bunna (Victoria University of Wellington (Wellington, Nova Zelanda). School of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science)
This paper describes two innovations that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of a genetic programming approach to object detection problems. The approach uses genetic programming to construct object detection programs that are applied, in a moving window fashion, to the large images to locate the objects of interest. [...]

(Lippstadt, Alemanya))
This paper presents a security-related machine-vision solution for real-time classification of moving objects with highly reflective metallic surfaces and complex 3D-structures. As an application example of our so called Three-Color Selective Stereo Gradient Method (Three-Color SSGM) a classification system for three main coin denominations of Euro coins is presented. [...]

PSI Laboratory) ; Trupin, Eric (Université de Rouen. PSI Laboratory) ; Ogier, Jean-Marc (Université de La Rochelle. L3I Laboratory) ; Labiche, Jacques (Université de Rouen. PSI Laboratory)
We present in this paper a symbol recognition system for the graphic documents. This one is based on a contextual approach for symbol structural recognition exploiting an Object-Process Methodology. [...]

This paper presents a tracking algorithm for automatic instrument localization in robotically assisted laparoscopic surgery. We present a simple and robust system that doesn't need the presence of artificial marks, or special colours to distinguish the instruments. [...]

In this paper, we propose a robust real-time object detection system for outdoor image sequences acquired by an active camera. The system is able to compensate background changes due to the camera motion and to detect mobile objects in the scene. [...]

In the professional career of any anthropologist there is the inevitable rite of passage of fieldwork and later ethnographic writing; the following illustrates the development of the process in the construction of the object from the perspective of the student who, for the first time, has to face the task of defining and limiting the scope of her investigation: the phenomenon of "botellón" in two Spanish cities.

It is the purpose of this paper to consider the double object construction in the light of some data of Kihaya and Sesotho, two Bantu languages in which the objects display symmetrical behaviour with respect to word order, cliticisation, passivisation, unspecified object deletion, and raising to subject. [...]
This article examines the phenomenon of object clitic omission in French. Previous research contains contradictory results depending on the source of the data: it seems that in spontaneous production children prefer DPs while in elicited production they prefer omissions. [...]
