10 p, 3.5 MB Resolution of opiate illicit drugs signals in the presence of some cutting agents with use of a voltammetric sensor array and machine learning strategies / Ortiz, Dionisia (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Química) ; Cetó Alsedà, Xavier (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Química) ; De Wael, Karolien (University of Antwerp. Department of Bioscience Engineering) ; Valle Zafra, Manuel del (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Química)
In the present work, the resolution and quantification of mixtures of different opiates compounds in the presence of common cutting agents using an electronic tongue (ET) is evaluated. More specifically, ternary mixtures of heroin, morphine and codeine were resolved in the presence of caffeine and paracetamol. [...]

13 p, 3.9 MB Simultaneous voltammetric determination of acetaminophen, ascorbic acid and uric acid by use of integrated array of screen-printed electrodes and chemometric tools / Ortiz, Dionisia (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Química) ; Bonet-SanEmeterio, Marta (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Química) ; Valle Zafra, Manuel del (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Química)
In the present work, ternary mixtures of Acetaminophen, Ascorbic acid and Uric acid were resolved using the Electronic tongue (ET) principle and Cyclic voltammetry (CV) technique. The screen-printed integrated electrode array having differentiated response for the three oxidizable compounds was formed by Graphite, Prussian blue (PB), Cobalt (II) phthalocyanine (CoPc) and Copper oxide (II) (CuO) ink-modified carbon electrodes. The application of voltammetric sensors to the analysis of illicit drugs in combination with different chemometric tools to achieve their identification and quantification is explored herein. The aim is to process the whole voltammograms obtained from different sensors as a unique profile, and analyze those with the aid of pattern recognition methods that allow the extraction of a characteristic fingerprint, rather than focusing on the oxidation peaks associated to each of the drugs.
