Grup d'Estudis sobre Egipte i el Pròxim Orient a l'Antiguitat (GEEPOA)

El grup reuneix investigadors que treballen aspectes diversos de les civilitzacions del nord-est d'Àfrica, el Pròxim Orient i l’Euràsia central a l'Antiguitat, és a dir, l’Egipte faraònic, les cultures sírio-mesopotàmiques i les cultures indoeuropees orientals. Es tracta dels tres àmbits d'estudi de l'Institut d'Estudis del Pròxim Orient Antic (IEPOA) de la UAB.

L'objectiu general és el de fer recerca a través de projectes d’I+D+i sobre aquestes civilitzacions des de diferents perspectives: filologia i textos, epigrafia, història i institucions, arqueologia, aspectes socials i econòmics, estudis d’identitat i gènere... Alguns dels membres del grup lideren o participen en missions arqueològiques sobre el terreny.

El grup fa, a més, una àmplia tasca de formació de postgrau i doctorat (màster oficial, línia de recerca de doctorat i direcció de tesis doctorals) i de transferència de coneixement (programes propis de postgrau online, MOOCs, seminaris i conferències).
