Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (ICN2)

L’Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (ICN2), membre del Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST), dedica la seva recerca al comportament de la matèria a la nanoescala. L’Institut crea coneixement bàsic i desenvolupa dispositius en àrees tan diverses com Ciències de la Vida (medicina, salut i medi ambient), Energia i Tecnologies de la Informació i les Comunicacions. Aquesta investigació puntera té un enorme potencial per a canviar la vida quotidiana.

Els Patrons de l’ICN2 són la Generalitat de Catalunya, el Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), i la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). L’Institut ha estat reconegut com a Centre d’Excel·lència Severo Ochoa pel desenvolupament d’un programa de "Nanodispositius per a Reptes Socials" (2014-2018).
