Acerca de la modernización, la modernidad y el riesgo

Abstract:	El artículo contextualiza el debate sobre modernización, modernidad y el concepto de riesgo en las sociedades donde los peligros medioambientales han inducido a una profunda revisión de las prospectivas de futuro por parte de los actores sociales responsables (administración, instituciones, expertos, etc. ), y de los afectados, en términos de cambio social. A partir de la mayor concienciación ecológica de los ciudadanos afectados y el desarrollo de movimientos tendentes a replantear las políticas de medio ambiente, se presenta la evolución del contenido de los conceptos de modernización ecológica, reflexiva, simple, asumiendo la prevención del riesgo global y exento de responsabilidad atribuible a ningún gobierno, partido político o clase social en concreto.
Abstract:	This paper contextualises the debate on modernisation, modernity and the concept of risk in societies where environmental dangers have engendered a profound revision of future prospects by the pertinent social players (administration, institutions, experts, etc. ), and affected parties, in terms of social change. This paper starts by examining the growing environmental awareness of the affected citizens and the development of movements which tend to take a new approach to environmental policies, and goes on to analyse the evolution of the contents of simple, reflexive, ecological modernisation concepts under the assumption and prevention of the global risk for which no government, political party or specific social class can be held accountable.
