L'schwannoma vestibular és un tumor benigne que afecta al nervi vestibular. En un elevat percentatge de casos el tractament no és necessari però, quan l'evolució clínica fa obligat el tractament quirúrgic, això comporta el sacrifici del nervi. Aquest fet origina l'alteració del sistema vestibular homolateral i manifestacions clíniques variables, les quals comprometen la qualitat de vida del pacient. El que planteja aquest estudi és dissenyar una rehabilitació preoperatòria de l'equilibri amb l'objectiu de demostrar que aquesta pot millorar i accelerar la recuperació postoperatòria. Es durà a terme un assaig clínic on participaran 40 pacients afectes del tumor que es preveuen tractar quirúrgicament; un grup farà rehabilitació preoperatòria i l'altre no. Seran avaluats mitjançant la posturografia, l'escala de Berg i el test de qualitat de vida GBI. Es compararan els resultats d'ambdós grups abans i després de la cirurgia mitjançant la T-student de dades aparellades. |

Schwannoma is a benign tumour that affects the vestibular nerve. In a high percentage of the cases the treatment is not necessary but, when the clinic evolution makes obligatory the surgery treatment, this means the sacrifice of the nerve. This causes the alteration of the homolateral vestibular system and many clinic manifestations, which compromise the quality of life of the patient. What raises this study is to design a preoperatory rehabilitation of the balance with the aim of demonstrating that it can improve and accelerate the postoperatory recuperation. It's going to be done a clinical study in which will be involved 40 patients with the tumour who are going to be treated surgically; one group is going to do preoperatory rehabilitation and the other one not. They are going to be evaluated through the posturography, the scale of Berg and test of quality life (GBI). The results of the two groups will be compared before and after the surgery through the pared T-test. |
