La nueva visibilidad de los gestos : el mordisco de Mike Tyson

Resum:	This is a study of how Mike Tyson bit Evander Holyfleld for the heavy weight championship in boxing, in 1997. My focus is on the change of meaning of this gesture according to the spectators dealing with this event. Depending on the position of the viewer, this gesture which was invisible to the spectators in the stadium became visible on television. The same difficulty can be seen in the representation of the bite in photos or other graphic media. This shift in the production of meaning mainly through television is responsible for a profound change on how to read body actions in the future.
