Resumen:	La conceptualización política y teórica del nacionalismo se estructuró sobre dicotomías. En el caso argentino, si bien la clasificación bipolar es pertinente en términos de acción política, resulta insuficiente para entender la sociedad que se estructura a partir de 1945. Una tercera forma se instituye: la jacobina. Aunque estrechamente relacionada con el populismo contestatario, debe ser abordada en su singularidad. Su estudio resulta esencial para comprender la realidad latinoamericana instituida a principios del siglo XXI.
Resumen:	The concept of nationalism is politically and theoretically ambiguous. In the Argentine case, the bipolar classifcation is pertinent in terms of political action. However, this approach is insuffcient for understanding the structure of the Argentine society since 1945. Hence, a third way of nationalism takes place: the Jacobin. This current is intertwined with the protesting populism. Yet, it should be analyzed in its own singularity. The concept of Jacobin is helpful to understanding the Latin America of the beginning of the XXIs.
