Abstract:	La expansión del budismo desde la India hacia Oriente se produjo durante las dinastías Han y principalmente Jin, como resultado de la labor traductora de Kumārajiva. Sus versiones de los originales en sánscrito al chino, más comprensibles que las existentes hasta el momento, recibieron la ayuda del poder oficial, gracias al cual pudo desarrollar una escuela de traducción. Dos siglos más tarde, durante la dinastía Tang y con el respaldo de la corte imperial, Xuan Zang fue el iniciador de la llamada Nueva Traducción.
Abstract:	The expansion of Buddhism from India to the East took place during the Han and mainly Jin dynasties thanks, mainly, to the labor translator of Kumārajiva. His versions from originals in Sanskrit into Chinese, more understandable that those existing at that time, received the help from the ruling power, aiding him in his goal to develop a translation school. Two centuries later, during the Tang dynasty and with the support of the imperial court, Xuan Zang was the originator of the so-called New Translation. The reception of the sacred texts of Buddhism in China is due to the initiative of translation monks and the interest of the organs of power. These are decisive translations for the history of Chinese culture and language. The analysis of why, when, how and with what criteria, allows us a better understanding of the social and political development of the eastern countries.
