El propósito de este trabajo es analizar las señales lingüísticas constitutivas de los enunciados irónicospresentes en un corpus de uncentenar de editoriales sobre la guerra de Cuba, publicados en la prensa andaluza entre 1895 y 1898. Este conflicto bélico tuvo especial repercusión en Andalucía, debido a las estrechas relaciones comerciales de su población con los habitantes de la isla y al hecho de que Cádiz se convirtió en uno de los puntos clave de embarque de los soldados que partían hacia las tierras antillanas. La prensa constituía entonces el único medio con el que contaban los andaluces para informarse sobre los sucesos ultramarinos, de ahí que nos hayamos propuesto analizar cómo la prensa local se sirve de la ironía para manifestar a sus lectores su visión de la actualidad noticiosa. Esto nos ha permitido identificar los principales tipos de ironía presentes en estos diarios, así como los blancos a los que se trata de atacar mediante este recurso pragmalingüístico. |
| Abstract: |
The purpose of this paper is to analyze the linguistic signs constituting the ironicstatements present in a corpus of one hundred ofeditorials on the war in Cuba, published in the Andalusian press between 1895 and 1898. This war had a special impact on Andalusia, due to the close commercial relations of its population with the inhabitants of the island and the fact that Cádiz became one of the key points of embarkation of the soldiers who left for the Antillean lands. The press was then the only way that the Andalusians had to inform themselves about the overseas events, hence we have proposed to analyze how the local press uses irony to express to its readers its vision of current news. This has allowed us to identify the main types of irony present in these newspapers, as well as the targets that theytry to attack through this pragmatic resource. |
