Heterotopías en la poesía de Pedro Garfias
López García, José Ramón

Imprint: Ediciones de Iberoamericana 2022
Description: 21 pag.
Abstract: This article proposes the use of Michel Foucault's concept of heterotopia to analyze the poetry of Pedro Garfias. Specifically, his book Primavera en Eaton Hastings (1941) and the poem "Entre España y México" (1939), both written in his first months of exile. The treatment of space and time that heterotopia implies shows its suitability in the study of the literature of the republican exile of 1939. Specifically, it confirms the scope of Garfias's proposal in the revision of his own poetics and the construction of an epic reflective and political, as well as the limitations in his interpretation of Mexican otherness and the Spanish colonial past.
