Abstract:	El artículo ofrece los argumentos presentados bajo la figura jurídica de amicus curiae ante el tribunal de juicio de la ciudad de Orán, Salta-Argentina a principios del 2025 en el caso de Mercedes Yolanda Vargas. Esta joven madre soltera pierde a sus dos hijos tras incendiarse su humilde vivienda por un cortocircuito y es imputada por el delito de abandono de persona seguida de muerte agravada por el vínculo. Los argumentos expuestos ante el tribunal conectan diferentes puntos de una investigación en curso sobre desigualdad, pobreza y seguridad energética desde la perspectiva de género y derechos humanos. El documento constituye una herramienta analítica para el caso Vargas, pero también para una comprensión y un abordaje judicial más integral de la desigualdad social, la pobreza y su vínculo con la seguridad energética, el derecho a la energía y las tareas de cuidado. El trabajo respeta casi en totalidad la estructura original del alegato presentado ante el Tribunal De Juicio de Orán - Sala I - Vocalía N°3 la cual se remite a lo establecido por la Acordada 28/2004 de la Corte Suprema de Justicia de la Nación argentina. La metodología implementada responde a una modalidad mixta que combina técnicas de investigación, métodos y enfoques cuantitativos y cualitativos.
Abstract:	The article presents the arguments submitted under the legal concept of amicus curiae before the trial court of the city of Oran, Salta, Argentina, in early 2025 in the case of Mercedes Yolanda Vargas. This young single mother lost her two children after her humble home caught fire due to a short circuit and was charged with the crime of abandonment of a person followed by death aggravated by the relationship. The arguments presented before the court connect different points of an ongoing investigation into inequality, poverty, and energy security from a gender and human rights perspective. The document is an analytical tool for the Vargas case, but also for a more comprehensive understanding and judicial approach to social inequality, poverty, and their link to energy security, the right to energy, and caregiving tasks. The work respects almost entirely the original structure of the plea presented before the Trial Court of Oran - Chamber I - Vocalía N°3, which refers to the provisions of Agreement 28/2004 of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Argentine Nation. The methodology implemented responds to a mixed modality that combines research techniques, quantitative and qualitative methods and approaches.
