Resum: This study examines the characteristics of safe spaces in which LGBTI youth participate with their family's support. Employing a participatory methodology, the research incorporates 26 photovoice narratives, geolocation collected data and a timeline analysis. The findings indicate that, whether digital or physical, safe spaces are defined by interpersonal relationships, fostering feelings of protection, trust and mutual respect. The construction of social capital in these spaces relies on small, homogeneous networks, emphasizing the significance of socialization spaces in leisure time. Notably, formal educational spaces are not mentioned. The research underscores how imperative it is that methodologies and projects incorporate the demographic. This methodological approach contributes to a more comprehensive understanding of the collective importance of safe spaces for LGBTI individuals voices of LGBTI adolescents and their families into their development to provide public and educational institutions with avenues to enhance the safety and well-being of this.
