Nelle oltre 250 opere letterarie scritte da emigrati italiani in Svizzera è quasi sempre presente il concetto di frontiera. Ma con il passare del tempo e a seconda dei generi, la frontiera, da discrimine fra un prima e un dopo, da luogo di un trauma spesso rimosso, si trasforma in metafora di un percorso di formazione compiuto ora atraverso il dolore e la malattia, ora attraverso la spiritualità e la solidarietà.
The frontier concept is omnipresent in over 250 literary works by Italian émigrés in Switzerland. But with the passage of time and the deline of the genre to a position of secondary importance, the frontier, from a form of discriminating between before and after, of displacing trauma, has been transformed into a metaphor of distance, of preparation either through pain and disease, or through spirituality and solidarity.

In quest'intervista, concessa da Helga Schneider nel novembre 2002, si evidenziano le idee che percorrono tutti i suoi romanzi, dall'impossibilità del perdono fino al rifiuto dell'odio. Schneider mostra gli orrori del nazismo dal di dentro e interpreta il Male a partire dalla banalità delle sue espressioni più quotidiane, illuminando le zone d'ombra celate dal velo della propaganda.
In this interview, granted by Helga Schneider in November 2002, the ideas that predominante in all her novels are present, from the impossibility of forgiveness to the refusal of hatred. Schneider shows the horrors of Nazism from within and interprets Evil from the viewpoint of its trivial daily expressions, illuminating the shady areas hidden by the veil of propaganda.

L'articolo vuol essere una lettura di Nottetempo, casa per casa che prende spunto dall'analisi del sostrato mitico e iconografico delle rappresentazioni teriomorfiche più importanti del romanzo (il «luponario» e il «caprone») per sottolineare il cammino del protagonista dall'afasia animale e malinconica in cui è immersa la sua famiglia, e lui stesso, all'accesso al linguaggio accompagnato dalla presa di coscienza della decadenza della società siciliana che coincide anche con il suo esilio.
The article aims at providing a reading of Nottetempo, casa per casa, starting with the analysis of the mythological and iconographic substrata of the most significant theriomorphic representations within the novel (the «lycanthrope» and «goat») in order to emphasise the path taken by the protagonist from that animal, melancholy aphasia in which he and his family are immersed, through to the access to language, accompanied by the growing awareness of the decadence of Sicilian society that also coincides with his exile.

The article adapts the headings of Wallace Stevens's poem «Notes towards a supreme fiction» to describe what the author believes a «supreme Internet literature» will eventually look like. Drawing on his own experience as a writer who has published in both print and electronic formats, he surveys contemporary creative writing on the World Wide Web and comes to the following conclusions about Internet literature: 1) it must cut to the chase; 2) it must be postmodern; 3) it must be brief; 4) it must have «whistles and bells»; 5) it must be idealistic; 6) it must not live up to its ideal; 7) it must side-track; 8) it must be free; 9) it must be seductive; 10) it must not be read; 11) it must attract writers who are suspicious of web publication; 12) it must invite immediate feedback; and 13) it must resist closure.
