26 p, 1.9 MB Peripheral Oxidation-Inflammation and Immunosenescence in Triple-Transgenic Mice for Alzheimer's Disease (3xTg-AD) at Early Neuropathological Stages of Disease and Decrease of Immune Impairment by Voluntary Exercise / De la Fuente, Monica (Universidad Complutense de Madrid) ; Garrido, Antonio (Universidad Europea de Madrid) ; Vida, Carmen (Universidad Complutense de Madrid) ; Manassra, Rashed (Universidad Complutense de Madrid) ; Gimenez-Llort, Lydia (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Departament de Psiquiatria i de Medicina Legal) ; Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Institut de Neurociències
Inflammatory-oxidative stress generated by immune cells plays an important role in aging and in age-related neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease (AD). Triple-transgenic mice for AD (3xTg-AD) are a suitable model for mimicking this disease in an age-dependent manner. [...]

Background/Objectives: Homeostatic (nervous, immune and endocrine) systems and their communications network are crucial for health and aging rate. We previously reported behavioral and peritoneal leukocyte function alterations and oxidative-inflammatory stress in young female triple-transgenic (3xTg) mice for Alzheimer's disease (AD). [...]

According to contemporary psycho- and physiological perspectives, the brain supports our experience of the world by constantly anticipating what may happen next. In this context, limbic mesocortical areas have been proposed to play a key domain-general role in cortical processing, holding highly abstract content that may be efficiently broadcasted to virtually the whole brain, ultimately integrating interoception into a unified field of experience from the point of view of someone who has a body. Institut de Neurociències) ; Batallé Melgarejo, Gerard (Institut de Recerca Sant Pau) ; Pol, Olga (Institut de Recerca Sant Pau)
Background: Therapies to treat chronic neuropathic pain and its associated comorbidities are limited. Recent studies demonstrated that the administration of slow-releasing hydrogen sulfide (HS) donors inhibited chemotherapy-induced neuropathic pain. [...]

A recently published article by van Heijst et al. attempted to reconcile two research approaches in the science of emotion-basic emotion theory and the theory of constructed emotion-by suggesting that the former explains emotions as bioregulatory states of the body whereas the latter explains feelings that arise from those state changes.
