El artículo pone de relieve las conexiones e influencias formales, oficialmente inexistentes, entre la arquitectura desarrollada en Corea del Norte y en otros países socialistas o capitalistas. El régimen generalmente cerrado para el intercambio con el exterior, promovió la creación del estilo arquitectónico juche, tradicional y moderno, pero fundamentado en el importado neoclasicismo del realismo socialista soviético. El desarrollo posterior de esta arquitectura, nacional en la forma y socialista en el contenido, supuso la simplificación de la forma y decoración y el aumento de la espectacularidad mediante estructuras y materiales, para aproximarse al estilo internacional y crear una arquitectura exportable. |
| Abstract: |
The article highlights the connections and formal influences, officially nonexistent, between architecture developed in North Korea and in other, socialist or capitalist countries. The regime, generally closed to external exchange, promoted the creation of juche architectural style, traditional and modern although based on the imported neoclassicism of Soviet socialist realism. The further development of this architecture, national in form and socialist in content included the simplification of form and decoration and augmenting spectacularity of structures and materials, in order to approach the international style and create an exportable architecture. |
