A través de sus ponencias, Barbara Biglia, Ángel Gordo y Pilar Parra nos presentan historias de vida de mujeres nacidas en las décadas de los años setenta y ochenta, educadas, por lo tanto, en gran parte, en el período democrático. De clase media unas, de clase trabajadora otras. Las españolas han cambiado, y estas vidas que se nos narran son radicalmente diferentes de las que vivieron sus madres y sus tías, y están casi a años luz de lo que fueron las vidas de sus abuelas. Vidas, las de estas antecesoras, que aparecen también, a grandes trazos y como telón de fondo, en las narraciones que se nos presentan, y que nos sirven precisamente para comprobar el contraste, la distancia, el cambio social acaecido. Las españolas de hoy ya no asumen mandatos: ceden a impulsos, indagan en sus deseos, corrigen sus opciones. Tantean, prueban, rectifican, aparentemente al azar. ¿Pero qué es lo que, en el fondo, parece guiarlas, orientar sus búsquedas y actitudes? Hay hilos tenues que las unen al pasado y que, de otra manera, parecen orientar sus opciones en función de objetivos que fueron también los de las anteriores generaciones de mujeres. |
| Abstract: |
In their articles, the three authors analyze the life stories of various Spanish women born during the seventies and eighties, that is, women who grew up and were educated during the democratic period of Spanish history. Some of them belong to the working class, others to the middle class. These stories show us that the lives of Spanish women have changed and that their lives are very different from the lives of their aunts and mothers, and light years away from the lives of their grandmothers. The life stories of their mothers and grandmothers serve as contexts to understand the contrasts, but also the social changes that have taken place across these different generations of women. Today, the younger generations of Spanish women no longer accept old mandates; they yield to their impulses and desires and are open to new possibilities. They experiment, they change, and they correct their mistakes along the way. But what is it that motivates and guides them? It seems that there are still some links with the past and that there is still something that makes them choose to live their lives in ways similar to past generations of women. |
