Abstract:	En el presente trabajo trata de ofrecerse una caracterización del concepto de virtud cívica. En primer lugar, se define la virtud cívica como la motivación causalmente eficiente para la acción públicamente orientada. En segundo lugar, se sostiene que la extensión social de la virtud cívica debe ser entendida como el establecimiento de un cuerpo de normas sociales públicamente orientadas.
Abstract:	In this paper I aim to provide a characterization of the concept of civic virtue. Firstly, I define civic virtue as the causally efficient motivation to act in a publicly oriented manner. Secondly, I maintain that the social spread of civic virtue should be understood as the establishment of a set of publicly oriented social norms.
