Abstract:	This paper explores the different mechanisms of English and Spanish in what question formation is concerned. L2 learners of English tend to apply Subject-Auxiliary Inversion in embedded contexts, where it is not necessary. Therefore, the aim of this project is to find the source of this misapplication. Two possibilities are proposed: transfer from the L1 or structural interference from the structures of the L2 itself. In order to find out the source, a detailled analysis of the processes of each language is done and an experiment is carried out in which subjects have to produce and evaluate indirect questions in English.
Abstract:	Este estudio se centra en los distintos mecanismos que inglés y castellano utilizan para la formación de preguntas. L2 estudiantes de inglés tienden a utilizar la Inversión Sujeto-Auxiliar en oraciones interrogativas subordinadas, cuando no es necesario. Por lo tanto, el objetive de este proyecto es averiguar la fuente de este error. Se proponen dos posibilidades: transferencia de la L2 o interferencia de otras estructuras de la L2. Para encontrar la fuente, se ha hecho un análisis exhaustivo de los procesos de cada lengua y se ha llevado a cabo un experimento en el que los sujetos deben producir y evaluar oraciones indirectas en inglés.
