Abstract:	Does the new Energy diplomacy the potential to boost the relation of the EU with Algeria, in the light of pragmatic-geopolitical turn of the Common Foreign and Security Policy? This thesis employs research tools to answer this question, using the EU-Algerian relations a case of study, combined with other methodologies such as analysis of literature and foreign action policies, assistance to seminars and conferences or interviews with European policy makers and top researchers experts on different fields. This thesis will try to prove if it is true that there is an evolution in the Common Foreign and Security Policy, from the Union of values to the more geopolitical EU, due to the need of the EU to adapt its foreign policy to a more hostile international environment, and how this is reflected in EU-Algerian relations inside the framework of the Euro-Mediterraean relations, and more recently of the new European energy diplomacy. All of this with the intention to present a full lecture of the topic and to present conclusions on the matter.
