Con el fin de intentar superar cien ambigüedades en la interpretación que Nietzsche efectúa de la filosofia platónica, se propone el examen de los cursos universitarios impartidos por Nietzsche en Basilea y, más concretamente, el del curso sobre Platón titulado "Einleitung in das Studium der platonischen Dialogue". Del análisis del mismo salen a la luz algunos aspectos interesantes. Así, por ejemplo, y frente a otras interpreraciones que sostienen lo contrario, se intenta mostrar, por una parte, la relevancia filosófica de la actividad docente en Basilea y, por otra, que la interpretación nietzscheana del platonismo está fuertemcnte influenciada (ya desde su juventud) por los textos de Aristóteles más que por los de Schopenhauer. El análisis del Curso de Basilea muestra asimismo, la continuidad, más que la ruptura, entre el joven profesor Nietzsche y el Nietzsche más maduro, continuidad que afecta a aspectos centrales de la filosofia de Nietzsche, tales como su crítica a la metafísica heredera del platonismo. En el artículo se intenta mostrar que el estudio detallado de las tesis platónicas que Nietzsche realizó en este curso le proporcionará un arsenal de argumentos del que se servirá en su obra posterior. El joven profesor Nietzche proporciona una justificación explícita de los argumentos que, en sus escritos posteriores, se eliden o, simplemenre, se dan por supuestos. El Nietzsche del Curso de Basilea y el de los escritos posteriores tienen en común afirmaciones tales como que el sufrimiento provocado por el caracter inaprehensible de las cosas presentes en el mundo en devenir lleva a Platón a condenar el mundo sensible y a construir un mundo inteligible de esencias inmutables susceptible de conocimienro firme y seguro. La filosofia platónica está, según Nietzsche, construida sobre presupuestos morales, lo cual se pone de manifiesto en el lugar eminente que en la teoria de las ideas se reserva para la idea del Bien, concepto que, según la interpretación de Nietzche, es lícito asimilar al de Dios. La crítica del Nietzsche maduró a la ontoagatologia u ontoteología platónica encuentra una serie de importantes precisiones si examinamos lo afirmado en el curso sobre Platón: así, por ejemplo, sale a la luz el punto de partida sobre el que se desarrollará su crítica a todo el edificio de la metafísica occidental, mostrándose continuidad, más que ruptura, en el pensamiento de Nietzsche a lo largo de todos los períodos que éste atraviesa. Ello es motivo más que suficiente como para reclamar la publicación de los cursos universitarios impartidos por Nietzsche en Basilea en la nueva edición de sus Obras Completas. |

In an attempt to clarify certain ambiguities in Nietzsche's interpretation of Platonic philosophy, one proposes the examination of the university courses taught by Nietzsche in Basle and, more specifically, the Course on Plato entitled "Einleitung in das Studium der platonischen Dialoguen". Such an analysis causes certain interesting aspects to come to light. Thus, for example, and opposed to other interpretations wich defend the contrary, one attempts to show on the one hand the philosophical relevance of his teaching activity in Basle and on the other hand the Nietzschean interpretation of Platonism was strongly influenced (from as early as his youth) more by the texts of Aristotile than by those of Schopenhauer. Analysis of the Basle Course also shows the continuity of -rather than ruture between- Nietzsche the young university lecturer and the more mature Nietzsche; a continuity which affects central aspects of Nietzsche's philosophy, such as his critique of metaphysics inherited from Platonism. The article attempts to show that the detailed study of the Platonic theses carried out by Nietzsche in this course would provide him with an arsenal of arguments for use in his later work. Nietzsche the young lecturer provides an explicit justification of the arguments which elide in his later writings or are simply taken for granted. The Nietzsche of the Basle Course and the Nietzsche of the later writings share such assertions as that the suffering provoked by the inapprehensible character of things present in the world in transformation leads Plato to condemn the world of the senses and to build an intelligible world of immutable essences subject to solid, sure knowledge. In Nietzsche's view, Plato's philosophy is built upon moral assumptions, shown by the very high importance given to the idea of Good in the Theory of ideas, a concept wich according to Nietzsche's interpreration may be compared to that of God. The mature Nietzsche's critique of ontoagatology or Platonic ontotheology finds a series of important observations if we examine what is expounded in the Course on Plato. Thus, for example, we find the starting point from which his critique of the entire edifice of western metaphysics would be developed, showing continuity more than rupture in Nietzsche's thought throughout all the periods which he experienced. It is a more than valid reason periods which he experienced. It is a more than valid reason for requesting the publication of the university course taught by Nietzsche in Basle in the new edition of this Complete Works. |
