En este trabajo proponemos revisar cómo la transposición cinematográfica de Extraños en un tren ha convertido el asfixiante mundo amoral de Patricia Highsmith en un típico relato hitchcockiano de suspense trepidante, desdibujando las aristas más oscuras de los personajes y situaciones de la novela original. No se trata aquí de determinar si la película es "más", "mejor" o "peor" que el texto -empresa muy poco productiva- sino de reflexionar sobre las operaciones llevadas a cabo por el director para apropiarse de la obra literaria y hacer de ella un filme que responde a su propia visión del mundo y del cine. |

In this work I propose to analyze how the cinematographic transposition of Strangers on a train has changed the suffocating amoral world of Patricia Highsmith in a typical Hitchcockian frantic suspense story, blurring the darkest edges of the characters and situations of the original novel. The aim is not to determine whether the film is «more», «better» or «worse» than the text -an unproductive enterprise- but to reflect on the operations made by the director to seize the literary work and make of it a film that responds to his own vision of the world and of cinema. |

En aquest treball proposem revisar com la transposició cinematogràfica d' Estranys en un tren (Strangers on a train) a l'asfixiant i amoral món de Patricia Highsmith en un típic relat hitchcoknià de suspens trepidant, desdibuixant les arestes més obscures dels personatges i les situacions de la novel·la original. No es tracta de determinar si la pel·lícula és més, «millor» o «pitjor» que el text -empresa molt poc productiva - sinó de reflexionar sobre les operacions portades a terme pel director per a apropiar-se de l'obra literària i fer d'ella un film que respon a la seva pròpia visió del món i del cinema. |

Lan honetan proposatzen duguna Ezezagunak tren batean (ETBko bertsioan Trenean ezagutu berri) eleberriaren zinemarako transposizioak Patricia Highsmithen mundu itogarri eta amorala nola aldatu duen aztertzea da. Zinemako bertsioa Hitchcocken ohiko erretratua da, suspense bizkorrekoa, eta, horretarako, jatorrizko eleberriko pertsonaien eta egoeren ertz ilunenak lausotu ditu. Helburua ez da filma testua baino «gehiago», «hobea» ala «okerragoa» den esatea ―ez litzateke batere produktiboa izango―, baizik eta zuzendariak idazlana bere egiteko eta bere munduaren eta zinemaren ikuspegiari egokitzeko erabilitako tresnei buruz hausnartzea. |
