/
Madeira, Bruno (Universidade do Minho)
This paper aims to study the representation of women and its extremes in zombie movies. Its methodological and conceptual bases come from cultural studies and deconstruction theory, particularly ideas from Derrida (1967, 2005), Boothroyd (2006), and Sánchez et al. [...]

This paper assesses claims that, prior to the 19th century, around 90% of the human population lived in extreme poverty (defined as the inability to access essential goods), and that global human welfare only began to improve with the rise of capitalism. [...]

Minimum water potential (Ψ) is a key variable for characterizing dehydration tolerance and hydraulic safety margins (HSMs) in plants. Ψ is usually estimated as the absolute minimum tissue Ψ experienced by a species, but this is problematic because sample extremes are affected by sample size and the underlying probability distribution.
