|
The group includes researchers working on various aspects of the civilisations of North-East Africa, the Middle East, and Central Eurasia in Antiquity, i.e. Pharaonic Egypt, Syro-Mesopotamian cultures, and Eastern Indo-European cultures. These are the three fields of study of the Institut d'Estudis del Pròxim Orient Antic (IEPOA) (Institute for Ancient Near Eastern Studies) of the UAB. The general objective is to make research through R+D+i projects on these civilisations from different perspectives: philology and texts, epigraphy, history and institutions, archaeology, social and economic aspects, identity and gender studies... Some of the members of the group lead or participate in archaeological missions in the field. The group also carries out a wide range of postgraduate and doctoral training activities (master’s degree, doctoral research line and doctoral thesis supervision) and knowledge transfer (online postgraduate programmes, MOOCs, seminars and lectures). |
