Sumándose a la convicción propia del pensamiento judío de que la única facultad capaz de sostener satisfactoriamente una ética es la memoria, en una superación del dualismo entre la ética racional y las éticas de la compasión o la simpatía, la autora evoca la obra literaria de Primo Levi, dedicada a rescatar la memoria de las víctimas del Holocausto, y analiza las complejas y lúcidas estrategias narrativas con que consigue recuperar las historias individuales eliminadas por el totalitarismo.
The author adheres to the conviction of the jewish thought, that the only faculty able to support an ethics satisfactorily is the memory, which overcomes the dualism between a rational ethics and an ethics of compassion or sympathy, and evokes the Primo Levi's literary work, dedicated to save the memory of the Holocaust's victims, and analyzes the complex and brilliant narrative strategies which Levi uses to recuperate the individual stories eliminated by the totalitarism.
