El objetivo de este estudio es identificar cambios en la comprensión del concepto de polígono y la relación entre polígonos en estudiantes de tercero de educación primaria al participar en un experimento de enseñanza. [...]
This study aims to identify changes in the third-grade students' understanding of the polygon concept and the relationship between polygons when participating in a teaching experiment. We analysed 59 student answers to a test, before and after a teaching sequence, considering the notions of dimensional deconstruction and cognitive apprehensions. [...]

Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology)
It is well-known that the calculation of thermal conductivity using classical molecular dynamics (MD) simulations strongly depends on the choice of the appropriate interatomic potentials. As proven for the case of graphene, while most of the available interatomic potentials estimate the structural and elastic constants with high accuracy, when employed to predict the lattice thermal conductivity they however lead to a variation of predictions by one order of magnitude. Decrease in processing speed due to increased resistance and capacitance delay is a major obstacle for the down-scaling of electronics. Minimizing the dimensions of interconnects (metal wires that connect different electronic components on a chip) is crucial for the miniaturization of devices. [...]

Spin-orbit coupling stands as a powerful tool to interconvert charge and spin currents and to manipulate the magnetization of magnetic materials through spin-torque phenomena. However, despite the diversity of existing bulk materials and the recent advent of interfacial and low-dimensional effects, control of this interconversion at room temperature remains elusive. [...]

Atomically sharp heterojunctions in lateral two-dimensional heterostructures can provide the narrowest one-dimensional functionalities driven by unusual interfacial electronic states. For instance, the highly controlled growth of patchworks of graphene and hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) would be a potential platform to explore unknown electronic, thermal, spin or optoelectronic property.
