Disturbis has been up to its 13th issue the journal of the Master on Aesthetics and Contemporary Art Theory “Thinking today’s art” and “Contemporary Art Grammars” provided by the UAB Philosophy Department in cooperation with Fundació Joan Miró in Barcelona and later with Museu Picasso, between 1999 and 2012. During these years the journal has consisted only of contributions by lecturers and students of the masters. The journal has set an elective affinity with critical art in the more general sense. Disturbis was defined as a digital part of a formative project in the fields of philosophy and contemporary art critics and theory, whose aim aim was to have a place in the difficult but necessary intersection between advanced studies and the world of today's art. It was conceived mainly as a work tool. From issue 14, Disturbis starts a second phase as part of a new formative project, the Màster Oficial en Investigació en Art i Disseny of EINA/UAB. Within the academic framework and a different context, the journal has reaffirmed its ideas of compromise with critical thinking and of being a tool for a rigorous and demanding but also democratic formative project.
