Resum:	El autor catalán Carlos Ruiz Zafón se ha revelado, con la publicación de La sombra del viento, como un fenómeno literario mundial, traducido a más de cincuenta lenguas. Su proceso creativo pone de relieve diversos elementos de la cultura española y, entre ellos, un considerable botón de muestra del acervo fraseológico de esta lengua. El cuidado en la elección de las locuciones que utiliza, y que nos interesa particularmente en este trabajo, nos da a conocer a un escritor extremadamente coherente en lo que respecta a la adecuación de dichas unidades fraseológicas al tiempo de su narrativa. En este artículo trataremos de esbozar una radiografía de seis locuciones que se han extraído de la segunda fase del conjunto de su obra, volcada a los lectores adultos (La sombra del viento, 2001; El juego del ángel, 2008; y El prisionero del cielo, 2011). Nuestro objetivo no es otro, sino averiguar el camino que han recorrido estas locuciones desde sus orígenes y primeros registros, sus posibles mutaciones al paso de los años y, por fin, su vigencia en el español actual.
Resum:	The catalan author, Carlos Ruiz Zafón, revealed himself - with the publishing of The Shadow of the Wind, a literary world phenomenon, translated to more than fifty languages. His creative process highlights various elements of the spanish culture and, among them, a considerable examples of the phraseological collection of this language. Also, the carefulness on the choice of the locutions (phrases) the author uses, and which are particularly of our interest in this study, for it allows us to know a writer extremely coherent in relation to the proper adequacy of such phraseological units in relation to the time of his narrative. In this article we intend to outline a radiography of six locutions extracted from the second phase of the overall set of his writings, written for adult readers (The Shadow of the Wind, 2001; The Angel's Game, 2008; and The Prisioner of Heaven, 2011. Our only aim in this study is to ascertain the path which these locutions (phrases) thrilled since its origins and first registers, possible mutations as time went by and, finally, sua its period of validity in spanish spoken nowadays.
