Resum:	Este artículo parte de un error en el que algunos medios incurrieron al construir la noticia de la muerte de Eliseo Verón. La investigación se remonta a sus años de joven estudiante y a sus primeros escritos publicados por CENTRO, revista del Centro de estudiantes de la facultad de Filosofía y Letras, en el contexto de los agitados movimientos de intelectuales en los años 50s. El texto recupera fragmentos de un Verón habitualmente desconocido, que asumía tempranamente su posición de enunciador crítico hacia los poderes instituidos y portavoz de un estudiantado convocado a reclamar la integración democrática en el gobierno universitario.
Resum:	This article derives from an error that some of the media made when constructing the news of the death of Eliseo Verón. The research goes back to his years as a young student and to his first writings published by CENTRO, review of the Student's Center of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Buenos Aires, in the context of the agitated movements of intellectuals in the 50s. The text retrieves fragments of a usually unknown Verón, who early on assumed his position of critical speaker towards the instituted powers and spokesman of a student body called to claim democratic integration in university government.
