El cine, y en particular el de ciencia ficción (CF), conlleva el aprendizaje no formal de contenidos de la ciencia y de su papel social. Diversas investigaciones han constatado que el cine de CF introduce una visión sesgada de la ciencia, de las personas científicas y del papel de la ciencia en el futuro, así como errores científicos que promueven concepciones alternativas en el alumnado.
