TransMedia Catalonia

TransMedia Catalonia es un grupo de investigación de la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB) que aborda el estudio de la traducción audiovisual (doblaje, subtitulación, voces superpuestas, etc.) y la accesibilidad a los medios (subtitulación para sordos, rehablado, audiodescripción, audiosubtitulación, lengua de signos) en distintos géneros, plataformas y soportes. Tras un período inicial dedicado a la investigación descriptiva, ahora se centra principalmente en estudios empíricos y de carácter tecnológico. Esto es posible gracias a un grupo de investigadores interdisciplinar.

En 2005 el gobierno catalán reconoció a TransMedia Catalonia como grupo emergente (SGR2005/230), y desde 2009 es un grupo de investigación consolidado (2009SGR700, 2014SGR27, 2017SGR113) vinculado al Departamento de Traducción e Interpretación y Estudios de Asia Oriental de la UAB. El grupo dirige el Laboratorio de Tecnologías Aplicadas a la Traducción Audiovisual, que ofrece servicios de eye-tracking y medidas de variables electrofisiológicas.
