[...] This article considers informal waste picking and other informal economic activities carried out by Romanian Roma in Valencia. It has three objectives: to analyse informal waste picking as an informal recycling economy and the strategies and resources used to do it; to grasp the implications of informal waste picking and its social valuation in the situation of the collective; and to understand the main factors that differentiate the situation in Valencia and other western European cities with some cities in the global South which represent more positive experiences for informal waste pickers. We explore the effects of prolonged contact with Croatian on the inflexional morphology of number-marking in the Istro-Romanian noun. One result of a reorganization of the nominal system is that certain bisyllabic plural desinences, originally associated with feminine gender, are reassigned to the masculine, and come to exist alongside other modes of masculine plural marking. Romanian de fapt - from adjectival adjunct to attention marker

This research traces back the development of the Romanian phrase de fapt ('in fact, actually, indeed'), based on written and oral corpora. De fapt has been attested in Romanian since late 19th century; chronologically, it is the last of the three Romanian adverbial expressions (alongside în faptă and în fapt) that went through all the stages of the grammaticalization cline proposed by Elizabeth Traugott for this type of adverbs.
